A Passion for Craftsmanship that Challenged an Unknown World and Produced a Gem of a Cup
Founder Shinjiro Torii challenged unknown fields, refusing to yield to opposition from those around him. Japan's "Akadama Port Wine" gained immense popularity, and with those profits, he took on whiskey making, beginning construction of the Yamazaki Distillery in 1923. In 1929, the authentic domestic whiskey "Shirofuda" was born. Torii's "craftsmanship" and dedication to manufacturing are passed down to the world-renowned "Hibiki," "Yamazaki," and "Hakushu."
