Knowing Hundreds of Stories Dwelling in the Region at Japan's Longest Post Town

Narai-juku in Shiojiri City, Nagano Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years, was once the most bustling post town among the eleven post towns of Kiso on the Nakasendo. "BYAKU Narai," an inn renovated from an approximately 200-year-old traditional folk house located in the Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, inherits and conveys that bustle, as well as the history and climate dwelling there. While utilizing historic building materials and structures, modern comfort is ensured. There is also the pleasure of knowing hundreds of stories dwelling in the region, such as Kiso lacquerware, the history of the Nakasendo, and the six water sites. This inn, carefully regenerated over time inheriting the stories of the land, where you can experience an "extraordinary everyday" slightly richer than usual, is overflowing with altruism.
