Inheriting Kyoto Wagashi Made with Carefully Selected Ingredients in the Town of Nishijin-ori, Kyoto
A wagashi store with a "Myth & History," said to have branched off from "Shiojiken," which traces its lineage to Lin Jingyin, who came to Japan from China and is said to have made the first manju in Japan. They have been making Kyoto sweets in Nishijin, Kyoto, for 140 years. The store, designated as a Historical Design Building by Kyoto City, is deeply atmospheric. The "Seasonal Steamed Sweets," highly valued in tea ceremonies, are masterpieces that reflect the delicate four seasons of Kyoto.
