Enjoying Town-Wide Hospitality Along with Traditional Chestnut Sweets
A long-established store where you can experience the spirit of "altruism" passed down in Obuse, Nagano Prefecture: "entertaining guests (marebito) from the bottom of one's heart." They offer Japanese and Western sweets using smooth chestnut paste that locks in the flavor of chestnuts, and have continued to protect their noren for over 100 years. The 17th generation head, Tsugio Ichimura, promoted the townscape landscaping project in Obuse Town. By realizing a beautiful townscape where old and new buildings harmonize, it has now become a popular town with over 1 million annual visitors.
