Entertaining Guests with a Charming Townscape and Exquisite Chestnut Sweets
A long-established shop embodying the "altruistic" spirit passed down in Obuse, Nagano Prefecture, which dictates "entertaining guests from the heart." They offer exquisite chestnut sweets using a smooth chestnut paste prepared in their own factory. The 17th generation owner, Tsuguo Ichimura, played a leading role in the landscape improvement project of Obuse Town. By creating a town where historical architecture and modern buildings harmonize, it has become a popular destination with over one million visitors annually. "Kuri no Komichi" (Chestnut Path) behind Obusedo is renowned as an atmospheric promenade retaining the charm of the Edo period.
