“Enrichment of Everyday Life” Award
A High-Quality Everyday Life with Tea through Various Approaches
Founded in 1717 as "Omiya," a shop dealing in tea and ceramics. At the end of the Edo period, it adopted the trade name "Ippodo," meaning "to preserve a single tea." The brand continues to evolve with the times while sincerely facing tea. Currently, it handles about 30 brands of four types of tea: matcha, gyokuro, sencha, and bancha. It also teaches the appeal of tea through tea bags demanded by the times and easy-to-brew, easy-to-handle tools. "Tea time" not only moistens the throat but also the heart, bringing everyday quality.
