A New Image of Women Fascinated by Ballet's Elegance and Stoicism
CHIKA KISADA takes inspiration from the transience of ballet and the stoic mental strength behind the scenes. Just as ballet has a script and choreography, it is a creative process that starts with a poem, spinning words with the feeling of choreographing each season. The designer's ballet experience lives as a perspective everywhere. While valuing feminine curves, she packs in a punk spirit, embodying the strength and transience of physical beauty. In August, she designed costumes for the gala performance "Ballet The New Classic," which breaks conventions and expresses ballet with a modern interpretation, upcycling old ballet costumes collected from all over Japan and bringing them back to life as new costumes. She continues to innovate while cherishing the culture and traditions of classical ballet.
