Asahiyaki, whose kiln was built in Uji, Kyoto during the Keicho era. Considered one of the Enshu Seven Kilns under the guidance of tea master Kobori Enshu, it follows the lineage of Enshu's preferred "Kirei-sabi" (refined simplicity). "Kirei-sabi" is an aesthetic sense that adds bright elegance to the beauty found in the loneliness of growing old = "sabi." The current 16th generation, Hosai Matsubayashi, centers on the production of Moon-White Glaze pouring works with a modern atmosphere, while also opening new frontiers such as Celadon Glaze pouring.
