ROKA

In the courtyard spreading in front of the restaurant building is Kohei Nawa's object "Ether #80". Works of young contemporary artists are displayed everywhere in the building.

An Inn Overflowing with Stimulation Where You Can Appreciate Art While Staying

The inn born on Naoshima, where art fans from all over the world visit, including for the Setouchi Triennale, features a modern one-story structure that blends into the beautiful mountain scenery. Notably, you can closely appreciate works by up-and-coming young contemporary artists displayed inside, curated by Shigeo Goto, a professor at Kyoto University of the Arts. Works displayed in the guest rooms are replaced every six months, and the program allowing purchases is also popular. It is a modern Japanese ryokan serving as a hub for transmitting Japanese culture and art.
