COVA KAKUDA

The oceanfront villa "HAMAAGE," renovated from a building where pearl harvesting was once conducted. In the world of pearl farming, taking pearls out from carefully raised Akoya oysters is called "Hamaage."

Experiencing the Nature of the Satoumi in a Building Retaining the Traces of a Pearl Farm

An experiential hotel opened in 2023 by the long-established pearl merchant Kakuda Pearl, aiming to regenerate the satoumi (coastal sea) of Ago Bay and inherit traditional culture. A waste-free circulation system is built, such as using firewood split in the wood-chopping experience for bonfires, and using the resulting charcoal for saunas and cooking. There are four private villas in total, utilizing a building that used to be a pearl farm. You can enjoy a sense of floating as if floating in an inlet, along with fulfilling activities.
