SHONAI HOTEL SUIDEN TERRASSE

The three guest room buildings have 119 rooms of various types, from singles to rooms for up to 5 people.

Healed by Japan's Original Scenery at a Masterpiece of Architecture Designed to Float on a Paddy Field

Architect Shigeru Ban designed this hotel to echo the rural landscape and design of the Shonai region in Yamagata Prefecture, making it appear as if it is floating on a paddy field. Behind the building, which elevates Japan's original scenery into modern beauty, spreads the rich nature of the Shonai region, nurtured by the snowmelt from the Three Mountains of Dewa (Dewa Sanzan), which have gathered faith since ancient times. The concept of the restaurant overlooking Mt. Gassan is "Farm to Table." You'll want to fully enjoy the deliciousness of local production for local consumption using local ingredients, along with the idyllic scenery.
