Realizing the Designer's Rich Image with Craftsmanship
A chair designed by Isamu Kenmochi for the lounge of "Hotel New Japan," which opened in 1960. The generous curves and texture of the rattan, and the elasticity that wraps around the body are comfortable. The representative work of Kenmochi, who advocated Japanese Modern (modern design incorporating traditional Japanese crafts and materials), was selected as the first Japanese furniture piece for the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York in 1964. A masterpiece chair that still shines today.
