Modern Vessels Where the Tradition of Karatsu Ware and American Culture Intersect

Raised in Karatsu, she moved to the US alone at age 16. After returning to Japan, she learned craftsmanship from her mentor and father, Takashi Nakazato, and became independent in 2007. Currently, she engages in creative activities while traveling between studios in Karatsu and the US. The vessels, which mix traditional Karatsu ware with the culture she cultivated in the US, feature simple white and various gentle colors guided by nature, adding everyday high quality and glamour to a space.
