1616/arita japan

The Tea Cup and Hojicha Cup were born by breathing life into the archives of Danish ceramist Richard Manz through a dialogue with his daughter Cecilie. In the vessels where the two cultures of Denmark and Japan intersect, a timeless gaze towards daily necessities breathes. "MANZ TeaCup" (φ96 x H74mm, Capacity: 250ml) ¥3,520, "MANZ Hojicha Cup" (φ86 x H62mm, Capacity: 150ml) ¥3,300.

Simple and Modern Arita Ware Shown from a New Perspective

1616/arita japan was launched by Momota-Touen in 2012 as a new ceramic brand with designer Teruhiro Yanagihara as the creative director. While following tradition, it pursues simple and modern designs, proposing Arita ware with a sense of authenticity through an unprecedented new approach. Highly popular overseas, it continues to make vessels that snuggle up to the future.
