Shonai Hotel Suiden Terrasse

Healed by Japan's Original Landscape in a Masterpiece Architecture Standing in a Paddy Field

A hotel designed to float on a paddy field, resonating its design with the rural landscape of the Shonai region in Yamagata Prefecture. Surrounding the building, where architect Shigeru Ban elevated Japan's original landscape into modern beauty, spreads a rural landscape nurtured by meltwater from the Three Mountains of Dewa (Dewa Sanzan), which have attracted worship since ancient times. You will want to fully enjoy the symbol of fertility that is the paddy field and the deliciousness of locally produced and consumed food.
