Exquisite Sweets from a High-End Fruit Parlor Dating Back to the Edo Period
Japan's first specialized fruit shop, preserving its legacy in Nihombashi, Tokyo for 190 years, where you can feel its "Myth & History." It began in the late Edo period when founder Benzo Oshima, who lived in Senbiki Village, Saitama District, Musashi Province (now Koshigaya City, Saitama Prefecture), transported peaches and oriental melons by boat to Ningyocho, Nihombashi, to sell. Later, it became an official purveyor to the Shogunate family, offering fruits. The Nihombashi Main Store houses a shop, cafe, dining room, and fruit parlor. It offers a wide variety of sweets woven from the finest fruits and traditional techniques.
