Proposing New Value Creation by Interweaving Tradition with Innovation
HOSOO was founded as a weaver in Nishijin, Kyoto in 1688 (the first year of the Genroku era). "Nishijin-ori," which has been passed down for 1,200 years, has been nurtured with the support of people with highly discerning eyes by weaving diverse materials based on silk threads. In 2010, they uniquely developed a machine capable of weaving "Nishijin-ori" in the global standard textile width of 150 cm. They are providing innovative textiles to the world. They are challenging themselves to create new products—and new value—by interweaving tradition with innovation in diverse fields such as interiors, fashion, and technology.
